What to Expect

Welcome! It’s great you want to know more about Christ Lutheran Church. We look forward to meeting you.

Traditional Worship each Sunday is at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. in our beautiful sanctuary. It combines the finest in traditional and modern elements. Our adult choir and multi-media presentations ensure that each week is a feast for the eyes and ears. Children are invited forward for a special lesson with the pastor each Sunday.

We welcome guests and visitors warmly and because the entire service is printed in a user-friendly bulletin, you need not be concerned about finding your way through hymnals. For those wishing a less formal worship service, at 9:45 a.m. we offer a Contemporary Service. The liturgy is varied each week. Service music and hymns are sung to piano, guitars and drums.

Holy Communion is celebrated at all our worship services. Baptized Christians are welcome. Children who commune in their home congregations are invited to share in the sacrament. Others may come forward to receive a blessing.

If you have any questions, please contact our church office Monday through Friday at (814) 371-2470. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. You can also email us at [email protected]

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear to church?

We want you to feel comfortable. The Traditional Services held at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. range from business casual to dressy. The 9:45 a.m. Contemporary Service is informal and relaxed.

Is there a nursery available?

Christ Lutheran Church offers a beautiful nursery for our youngest members just steps away from the sanctuary. You can hear the service piped in via speakers. It is available for parents and their children during all three services.

There is also a Nursery Class that meets each Sunday at 9:45 a.m. in the Sunday Church School wing. It is led by a Sunday Church School teacher.

Where should I enter the church?

Any open door is fine. There are doors on both sides of the steeple which lead into the narthex. No door opens directly into the sanctuary. The Sunday Church School wing has an entrance at the far end of the large parking lot.

What is the length of each service?

Each worship service is approximately 45 minutes long and includes communion.

How is the Contemporary Service different from the Traditional Services?

We have something for everyone. Christ Lutheran Church has a talented and spirited Contemporary worship team that leads the 9:45 a.m. service. They guide us through a wide variety of contemporary Christian music using the piano, guitars and drums.

Is Communion open to everyone?

Communion is offered at all three services. Baptized Christians are welcome at the Lord’s Table. Communion allows Christians to experience the forgiveness Jesus offers. Jesus invites us to come and receive Him in this meal. An unleavened whole wheat bread and red wine are served. Blessings are bestowed upon the children.
