DuBois Food Pantry

Christ Church is the backbone of this important local food ministry located on the ground level of Mansell Stadium on Liberty Blvd. More than 120 families are served the 1st, 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. This ministry is supported by 75+ volunteers and led by Pastor John Miller. Non-perishable food donations and grocery bags are always accepted at Christ Church in the narthex. Christ Church also hosts a Chicken and Biscuit Dinner annually in which the proceeds are donated to the food pantry.

GAIN Mobile Food Packing Event at the Big Run War Memorial

image1Approximately 35 members (youth and adults) will participate in a packing event of rice, beans and lentils. The goal is to pack 40,000 meals in about 2 hours!  A Food Packing Event requires approximately 200 people, each producing 200 meals at .25 cents a meal. Imagine feeding 200 hurting and hungry people and helping to open their hearts to the hope of the gospel – all for only $50 and 2 hours of effort per person. Volunteers start with large 50 lb. bags of rice and 100 lb. bags of beans or lentils and process them into smaller heat-sealed bags for distribution to people affected by disaster, war, and poverty.
